Welcome to the Headcanon Board! Here, you can post your own thoughts and theories on Hetalia. Just try not to make them too outlandish. Without further ado, here is my first headcanon.
As we know, the 'Grandpa' of Veneziano and Romano is Rome, so who is the father? Here's my take. After the fall of Rome, it is largely understood that the Lombards eventually took over and ran their kingdom for a little more than 200 years. The Lombards were separated in 5 distinct locations, Austria (as it was known then, northeast Italy), Neustria (northwest Italy), Tuscia (Tuscany area), Spoleto (central Italy) and the most important, Benevento (southern Italy). These were the duchies of the Kingdom of the Lombards. The majority of Lombardy was eventually taken over by the Holy Roman Empire under Charlemagne, leaving only Benevento as the sole remaining Lombard power. Here, we can divide the duchies. Austria, Neustria, and Tuscia can be seen as Northern Italy. Spoleto and Benevento can be seen as Southern Italy. This was the last time the majority of Italy was ever unified until Garibaldi united it with his Redshirts. From this history, I believe that Lombardy is the father of Romano and Veneziano.
Tell me what you all think! You all are fine with revising or criticizing my head canons as well as others posted by fellow forum-goers. Have fun thinking!

Whoa Brosef that is an awesome headcanon! I never really stopped and thought about who the Italies' father might be. Who knows, maybe you'll be right in the future!
I got one! (also coincidentally about all three Italies too) I think they each got something from Grandpa Rome. Veneziano (North) got Rome's artistic skills, Romano (South) got Rome's looks (dark hair and green-brown eyes), and Seborga might have gotten Rome's successful flirting.
Who knows if this could work, it's just an idea =w=
have some italians (not drawn by me)

I have another that doesn't really have much material to back it up, it's just a cute one I thought of after seeing a picture. Every so often the nations will allow their cat counterparts to come to their world meetings. Whenever they do, Russia has to make sure the ends of his scarf don't come too near the ground, because if they do, this happens.

Poland's my side bae. Lithuania's my main bae. Okay, so this really got me wondering. It's about Holy Rome.Ypu know how everyone says he's Germany as a little child? Well, in my opinion, it's a 50/50 chance HRE is Germany. In the twelfth chapter of Hetalia World Twinkle, the comic describes Germany's birth. It is explained that a couple of Germanic countries took all the empty piece of land and made him, and he was pretty 12/13ish at the comic. I STILL DONT KNOW. [Idk if this is true it's just my thoughts] Holy Rome existed before Germany even existed [sorry if I'm not right ;-;]. HRE then disappeared when battling France, and he never returned [dont be sad]. That's my head cannon, I guess.

The H.R.E. was dissolved in 1806, 9 years later, the German Confederation formed in 1815. This means 1 of 2 things. Either H.R.E. is Germany, just grown up. OR The H.R.E. is the father of Germany. Who knows? I sure don't.

headcanon I recently developed - Old Fritz taught Prussia how to play the flute. Historically, Friedrich the Great was more interested in music and arts than war, and he composed over a hundred sonatas for the instrument that he played - the flute. Prussia either aspires to play the guitar, or knows how to play the guitar, but yet, does not call it sacred like he does the flute, implying that the flute holds some sort of significance to him that other instruments may not. In my opinion, this is because one of the most respected individuals in Prussian history, Friedrich the Second, played the flute, and in turn, taught the nation how. In the strip Private Concert, Prussia plays the flute, and tells Germany that he should begin his own 'sacred journey of the flute'. Why would he call it sacred? Old Fritz stands as a great figure in Prussian history, so it would make sense if Prussia calls the journey sacred because Friedrich the Second himself taught him how to play. Prussia also says 'Here is my 'sacred' flute' when he gives it to his brother, which may mean that the flute he passed on to Germany's might've been a flute that Fritz used, since it is 'sacred' as well. Bam.
..It's official, 12AM is my headcanon time.[/ul]

^ I have to say, that's a pretty good head canon. I'd imagine that's true. Head canon accepted.
